October 12, 2011

We will be open for u-pick apples by appointment only, Thursday, October 13, through Saturday, October 15.

We will not have open hours, but instead will ask folks to make an appointment to pick.

The variety available is Macintosh, and the fruit is processing grade. That means the apples may have some scab or worm damage, fine for making into pies, applesauce, etc., but not table fruit quality.

Send us an e-mail if you'd like to make an appointment or to be on our contact list for orchard (please specify cherries or apples or both) and product updates.

You will need to bring you own containers for taking your apples home, and a small ladder. There are very few apples that are lower than four feet, so most small children will be unable to reach them. You might want to bring some kind of ground cover for them to sit on…the ground is damp out there. And as it has turned cooler and breezy, a jacket and long pants are recommended. The same rules apply to picking "etiquette:" anything on the ground stays on the ground, including apples you may have dropped; no climbing; and no pulling of branches.

We look forward to seeing you on the orchard!

Directions:

From Polson take Hwy 35 north six miles to Finley Point Rd. Follow the signs to Finley Point State Park. Make a left onto South Finley Point Rd and pass the cherry packing plant. We are the first dirt road past the packing plant on your right. Go to the top of the hill and come in our gate on your left. During u-pick season, we will have "Organic Cherries" signs out on the road to guide you.

From Big Fork take Hwy 35 South approximately 25 miles to Finley Point Rd. Follow the directions above.

Do not trust Google Maps or GPS systems, both take you someplace else, which may be a nice diversion, but won't get you any of our yummy cherries!
